IT’S back to the pool tomorrow for swimmers from Patriots Swimming Club at Old Hararians after having taken a break during the festive period. The swimmers went on a break after their swimming gala on December 7 last year but their coach Kudzi Mushonga yesterday said they will be starting their 2014 season with the main focus being the Winter Swim Meet in South Africa.

“We are going to start our training on Saturday and we should be having old swimmers and some beginners,” said Mushonga.
“As a club, we have been teaching children from as young as two years old how to swim and we anticipate to have another intake of beginners when we start.”

Mushonga said their immediate focus was to prepare for the Level Two Championships in Midrand, South Africa, in May.
“Once we start training we should not stop until we leave for the Winter Swim Meet in South Africa.  This is a Level Two gala and our swimmers have been to the Level One before.

“So, the main aim would be for the swimmers  to try and work hard so that they break their records set at Level One last year,” said Mushonga.

Patriots Swimming Club is home to nearly 45 swimmers among them Tanatsa Chanakira, Phyllis Mugadza, Tanyaradzwa Mushonga and Tawonga Tembo.
